Curry for Change

Changing the lives of families
who suffer from hunger.

Change Lives

Change Lives

One in nine people around the world will go to bed hungry tonight

The majority of these people, like the families Find Your Feet work with, live in very remote areas of Asia and Africa, without the means or opportunity to speak out and change their situation for the better.

By getting involved in Curry for Change you will be helping to change the lives of women like Sukuwari and Fumati

Find Your Feet helps families like Sukuwari’s and Fumati’s to grow enough food so they don’t go hungry, to strengthen their voice so they can speak out against injustice and to earn enough money so they can find their feet. They told us how their lives had changed:

Sukuwari

Find Your Feet has provided us with seeds, and helped us to understand organic agriculture which has benefited us greatly. I grow cabbages, mustard seed, and snake and bottle gourd. I am also able to buy potatoes and aubergine from the market.

We used to struggle to grow enough food but we’ve learnt to diversify our crops. Instead of just mustard I am now growing cauliflower, tomatoes, and chillies too. I am able to grow vegetables throughout the winter instead of buying them, saving money for the family.

What we do

We believe in social justice: a world in which everyone has the right to build a future free from hunger and poverty.

The Curry for Change campaign is led by the charity Find Your Feet, a small charity founded in 1960 helping families in Asia and Africa to build a future free from hunger, poverty and discrimination.

Where we work

We work in the poorest and most remote places in India, Nepal, Malawi and Zimbabwe. We focus on supporting rural communities in these areas because they suffer from extreme poverty, a lack of basic services and other support is scarce.

Who we work with

We work with the most vulnerable rural families, marginalised tribal groups, women and young people. Those who have been left behind. As the inequality between urban and rural areas increases, families living in remote rural areas are also finding themselves forgotten as their countries' economies grow.

How we change lives

We enable poor rural families to grow enough food so they don’t go hungry, to strengthen their voice so they can speak out against injustice and to earn enough money so they can find their feet.

What makes us different

We are a small and responsive organisation that makes a big impact on the lives of the families we support. We don’t give handouts; instead, we listen and provide families with the skills, training and confidence they need to help themselves and bring a long-lasting and sustainable change.
